Taking it Easy is Hard

So it is official--I am an injured runner.  Sure I knew that a lot of runner's get injured but I never thought I would be one of them---I know, how naive can I be---why did I think I was so special?  Well, I just always felt good after running--sure I got a little sore and my calves would burn after longer runs, but I never experienced pain.

Unfortunately that has all changed and I have been nursing only what I can call a R hip flexor/abductor/groin pull since my long run on Saturday along with mild achilles tendinitis on my left leg---I think the achilles pain has subsided, while the right abductor continues to hurt.  I REALLY REALLY wanted (NEEDED) to run today, but alas, I could not take the chance of further injuring it with my race now only a week and 1/2 away.  So I decided to go for a walk--I used to be ONLY a walker and I always walked fast (really fast) and carried 5 pound weights--so I decided to pick up my old routine this morning.  My right groin ached when I walked but it was not painful--cross your fingers that I did not further damage it.  I am hoping to get a SLOW recovery run in on Friday---but I must admit, I am nervous about it.
